Fernando Gonzalez and Andy Roddick have arranged a charity doubles match on the eve of the men's final at the Sony Ericsson Open to benefit earthquake-stricken Chile. Grand Slam champions Jim Courier and Gustavo Kuerten will also take part in the match next Saturday, which will follow the women's final.

Andy Roddick's supporters at the Sony Ericsson Open include Terrell Owens. Owens, a frequent spectator at the tournament, watched Roddick's victory over Igor Andreev in the second round Friday night. Owens visited with Roddick before the match in the players' lounge, and afterward they talked tennis, football and even basketball.

Guillermo Canas, once a nemesis to Roger Federer, has announced his retirement from tennis. The 32-year-old Canas (Kahn'-yass) said Friday he decided to retire rather than undergo a fifth operation on his right wrist. He has been battling pain in the wrist for more than a year and hasn't played in a tournament since July.
