Defending champion Philipp Petzschner of Germany has pulled out of the Bank Austria Trophy tournament in Vienna because of a calf injury. The 74th-ranked Petzschner, who won his only ATP title in Vienna last year, was scheduled to play Steve Darcis of Belgium in the opening round on Tuesday. He will be replaced by Michael Berrer of Germany.
Caroline Wozniacki denied on Monday that there was any wrongdoing involved last week when she quit a match one game shy of victory. The WTA Tour is investigating a surge in online bets backing her opponent that occurred after her father, Piotr, was overheard telling Wozniacki to quit because she wouldn't be able to play in the next round of the Luxembourg Open.
Mercedes-Benz USA has agreed to a four-year marketing partnership with the U.S. Open, replacing Lexus as a sponsor of the Grand Slam tennis tournament. The deal runs from 2010-13 and includes transportation for more than 250 tennis players during the event. The agreement calls for Mercedes-Benz signs to be placed on net posts during all televised men's singles matches.

Mikhail Youzhny of Russia beat Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia and Francesca Schiavone of Italy defeated Olga Govortsova of Belarus to win Kremlin Cup titles on Sunday. Youzhny won 6-7 (5), 6-0, 6-4 to earn his fifth career title and extend Russia's winning streak at the home event to six straight years.

Unseeded Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland has won her first WTA Tour title, beating sixth-seeded Sabine Lisicki of Germany 6-2, 7-5 in the Luxembourg Open final. The 70th ranked Bacsinszky won the battle of the 20-year-olds Sunday with her fourth upset victory this week by beating a player 42 places ahead of her in the rankings.

Sabine Lisicki of Germany came back to defeat Shahar Peer of Israel 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5) on Saturday to advance to the Luxembourg Open final against Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland. The unseeded Bacsinszky upset fifth-seeded Yanina Wickmayer 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the early semifinal, ending the Belgian's eight-match winning streak.
Janko Tipsarevic will play Mikhail Youzhny and Francesca Schiavone will meet Olga Govortsova in the final of the Kremlin Cup, after all four players posted straight-set victories Saturday. Tipsarevic advanced to his first final by beating Ukrainian qualifier Illya Marchenko 6-1, 6-4, while Youzhny beat Kazakh qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin 6-2, 6-1.
