Pilot Pen tennis tournament officials have decided to move the women's semifinals to indoor courts on the Yale University campus. A steady rain led officials to cancel the daytime session, which was to have been played at the 15,000-seat Connecticut tennis center. They will instead be held at the newly renovated Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center, which has almost no fan seating.

John McEnroe will be larger than life in New York City during the U.S. Open. A 100-foot high by 35-foot wide banner of McEnroe was unveiled Thursday on the side of Madison Square Garden. The seven-time Grand Slam winner is a spokesman for a campaign promoting prostate cancer screening guidelines. His father was diagnosed with the disease in 2006 but is doing well.

Andre Agassi's autobiography is heading to book stores in November. In the book, the eight-time Grand Slam singles champion discusses his start in tennis as a child, his relationship with his father and his failed marriage to Brooke Shields. Agassi writes: "No one ever asked me if I wanted to play tennis, let alone make it my life." He retired from professional tennis in 2006.

Former No. 9-ranked Paradorn Srichaphan has denied he is effectively retired from tennis, but has delayed his comeback again. The 30-year-old Thai hasn't played on the ATP Tour since March 2007 due to a wrist injury. "I'm not going to quit. I just want to be back when I'm really ready," said Paradorn, who had operations on the wrist in Los Angeles in 2007 and Bangkok this year.

Past champion Kim Clijsters has received her U.S. Open wild card. The 26-year-old Belgian recently came out of retirement and was promised an invitation to the American Grand Slam tournament, which begins Aug. 31. Clijsters won the 2005 U.S. Open and hasn't played in the event since. American women getting wild cards from the U.S.

The Pilot Pen tennis tournament has awarded a wild-card entry to French Open champion Sevetlana Kuznetsova. The tournament, which opens Sunday at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale, also granted a wild card Wednesday to American Meghann Shaughnessy. They'll join a women's field that includes defending champion Caroline Wozniacki, Flavia Pennetta and Amelie Mauresmo.

Ana Ivanovic defeated Magdalena Rybarikova 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Rogers Cup. The 11th-ranked Ivanovic rallied from a sluggish start. The 21-year-old Ivanovic, still seeking her first WTA Tour title of the season, overcame seven double-faults in the win over the 47th-ranked Rybarikova.

Andy Roddick senses that his epic loss on Wimbledon's grass has changed the way he's perceived. Instead of staining his image, it has enhanced it. Shoemaker previously served as the tour's chief operating officer, general counsel and head of the Asia-Pacific region. Monica Seles will play one more match in Canada, the country where she made her comeback after being stabbed. The former world No. 1 plans to take part in an exhibition doubles match Monday in Toronto at the women's Rogers Cup tournament. She's being inducted into the tournament's hall of fame as the only player in the modern era to win four straight Canadian titles.
